What's the difference?

All ultrasounds use sound waves to create a picture. The traditional ultrasound is a 2D image of a developing fetus. 2D ultrasound produce outline and flat-looking images.

3D ultrasounds produce the image by piecing together multiple 2D images taken at different angles. May parents enjoy 3D images because they feel like they can see what their baby looks like better than what the flatter 2d images are able to show.

A 4D ultrasound is similar to a 3D ultrasound except that the image it generates is continually updating much like a moving image. This type of image is often done for entertainment and not for medical reasons.

5D ultrasounds is exciting new technology that lets you see your baby in realistic view or what many call the flesh tone look. This will show baby with reddish/pinkish colour as if you are seeing the baby inside the womb.

A few good things to know

16 slots

We have up to sixteen appointment slots per day available for booking. All bookings are managed via our online and automated booking system

100%

Ultrasound scans are 100% safe when done by a qualified nurse trained in Obstetric Sonography. All scans done here are done by a qualified nurse trained in Obstetric Sonography.

6 weeks

Ultrasound scans are done from 6 weeks onward. Prior to the 6 week mark it may be too early to detect a heartbeat, or to provide useful information.

45 mins

Scanning slots are booked for 30 minutes but we add a 15 min buffer to cater for some sessions that may last a little longer.

7 Days

Appointments are bookable any day of the week with a reduced operating window for Sundays
